Our annual abseil returns with a brand new location for 2026 - a cave abseil! Take part in our abseil and caving adventure at our brand new location in Castleton. Adventure through an exciting cave trail before abseiling 33ft down a waterfall inside the cave! Your underground adventure will last around 2 hours.Come and join us to be part of a team who are striving to transform the lives of people living with the most challenging conditions. We will support you the whole way through your fundraising journey to help make your challenge a success! Important information You will be guided by fully qualified abseil instructors, with all caving suits, wellies, helmets, lights, harnesses, and associated safety equipment will be provided. The lower age limit is 12 years old and there isn't an upper age limit. If someone is younger than 12 and wants to take part, please contact us. Everyone who takes part needs to be fit, able to climb a ladder (as pictured) and able to take the excitement! Please ensure you are confident that you will feel comfortable in the caving environment, although there are no tight squeezes, you will still be underground! Participants can expect to encounter canyon-like cave passages, with some short sections where the roof drops lower and crouching is required, but there is no need for flat-out crawling. The abseil takes place inside the cave and involves climbing a caving ladder to reach the top of the drop. Depending on conditions, this may be before or after the abseil itself. To take part, we would ask you to pay a registration fee of £30 and then raise a minimum of £100 through sponsorship. The meeting point is near Castleton and the exact location will be sent to registered participants closer to the date. There are various available caving routes in the area and the exact route and venue will be selected by our instructors nearer the time, dependent on weather conditions. The challenge will take place on Sunday 20th September with a morning or afternoon slot available. If taking part with friends or family, please let us know, so that you can rope in can do it together!
